Frequently Asked Questions
How long does treatment take?
Treatment length depends on the individual and their clinical needs. Medical detox typically lasts 3 to 7 days. Residential treatment runs 30 to 90 days. Outpatient programs span 8 to 12 weeks. Our clinical team works with both the patient and their family to determine the right duration — because we know this decision affects everyone at home, not just the person in treatment.
Do you accept my insurance?
We accept Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medicaid, Medicare, Magellan, Humana, WellCare, and United Healthcare. If your provider is not listed, call us at (209) 713-7292 — our admissions team will verify your specific benefits and explain your coverage in plain language so both you and your family understand the financial picture before admission.
Can my family visit during treatment?
Absolutely. We believe family involvement is essential to lasting recovery. Visitation is available during scheduled weekends. We also have a dedicated family lodge for out-of-town family members and structured Family Systems Therapy sessions where families learn to communicate, set boundaries, and heal together. Addiction does not happen in isolation, and neither does recovery.
Is detox medically supervised?
Yes. Our detox program operates under 24/7 physician and nursing supervision. We use medication-assisted treatment (MAT) when clinically appropriate to manage withdrawal symptoms safely. Both patients and their families receive regular updates on progress during detox, because we know the waiting and worrying can be just as difficult for the people who love them.
What happens after treatment ends?
Recovery does not end at discharge — and neither does our support. Patients leaving residential care can step down into our outpatient program for continued structure. All alumni have access to our alumni network, peer support groups, and ongoing family programming. We also help patients build a personalized relapse prevention plan before discharge so both they and their families have a clear roadmap for the months ahead.
Do you treat co-occurring mental health conditions?
Yes. Our dual diagnosis program treats addiction alongside conditions like depression, anxiety, PTSD, and bipolar disorder. Many patients — and their families — are surprised to learn that an undiagnosed mental health condition was fueling the substance use all along. Our psychiatric and therapeutic teams work together to address the full clinical picture, giving patients and their loved ones answers they have been searching for.
What should my loved one expect on the first day?
The first day begins with a warm, compassionate intake process. Our team conducts a thorough medical and psychological assessment, reviews the patient's history, and creates an individualized treatment plan. Families are encouraged to participate in the initial intake conversation. We assign a primary therapist and get patients settled into their room. Most patients tell us the hardest part was making the call — once they arrive, the relief of being in a safe, structured environment is immediate.
